INFORMATION CENTER

The purpose of the Information Center of the PAHO/WHO Office in Uruguay is to provide the necessary information to deliver the technical cooperation program in the country, through the dissemination of relevant and updated information to the people in the health sector.

Its main objectives are:

  • To provide the necessary support to the PAHO/WHO Office in Uruguay to carry out its activities of technical cooperation;

  • To disseminate the technical and scientific information of PAHO/WHO;

  • To implement services and projects to provide a more equitable access to the information in this area;

Services:

  • Loan - from the collection. Either in the premises or to take home; Direct connection to the Internet - Direct connection through a computer available for this purpose;

  • Bibliographical search - In regional and international databases on request;

  • Bibliographical Assistance - for the presentation of scientific papers;

  • Virtual Health Library - Since it was introduced by the Latin American and Caribbean Center on Health Sciences Information (BIREME/PAHO), our Office has been carrying out several activities for its development. The National Consultative Committee on the VHL is formed by 10 national institutions with the PAHO as Technical Secretariat.
